Penguins have figured out that hunting alone is not as productive or effective as hunting in groups. Penguins have also found a way to effectively sort out group-related issues, so their collaboration work.
Once again, communication is key, and we’ve already established that penguins are pretty adept at that. Through rapid communication, penguins relay information to each other and predict where fish or whatever they are hunting for will surface to catch them effectively.
Building a Harmonious Colony
Within a large community, there’s a lot of responsibility. Do penguins have leaders? It turns out that some species do have a designated leader in their colonies.
But, it’s not a leader in the sense that there’s one penguin that rules them all. That’s very human, after all.
Penguin colonies have specific leaders to do specific tasks, like hunting or taking care of the eggs or the young.
Speaking of taking care of the young, penguins know how to take care of their babies once they’ve hatched from their eggs. They divide labor amongst themselves and assign capable penguins to specific tasks.

Also, penguins rank way up on the intelligence ranking list with octopuses, dolphins, and orcas, which are all aquatic animals.
